What is the big deal with doing more exercise to tone muscles or loose ridiculous amount of weight? Isn’t a 30 minute walk enough now a days? I am just amazed with how people can continuously go to the gym and do weights training everyday. It is also very amazing how some people even use a testosterone booster to ensure that they develop muscles better. I am actually jealous of their dedication to work out day after day.
Exercise for your shape
Author: JOY // Category: Beauty tip, fitness, health and fitness, women // Comment (1) // Add CommentAre you an apple, a pear, a spoon, a ruler, an hourglass, a cone…? Learn to exercise for your shape
Picture this. You and a girlfriend are both tall. You eat pretty much the same types of food and the same amount. And yet, she’s got the perfect body while you’re wincing every time you cross a mirror. You can’t help but wonder just what the hell is wrong with you.
It’s not you, honey, it’s your genes. Every woman is defined by the tape measure. A woman’s body shape depends on the type of fats she carries most. And all fat is not created equal. An apple can never become a pear. But overweight apple can become a healthy apple.
You can’t really change your basic shape but can work to tone it and shape it better. To lose weight and inches, you need to exercise based on your shape. Although some people rely on using weight loss pills, they still exercise to shape up. It’s not nice to be so slim and just straight like a post. A curve gives impact to a woman’s body. That’s why I love my hula-hoop because it shapes me up.
My Filipino friend and her sister visited me last Saturday. Her sister name is the same as my sister’s name. She ask me how come I’m so slim despite of having three kids. People will not think I’m married if I’ll go out alone. She’s wondering if I have a secret to share with her on how to lose belly fat because it’s her long time problem. I just told her that I don’t have secret because this is my build since birth ha-ha. I do exercise like biking, hoolahoop and walking but not often. Some people consider I’m lucky because of this. Actually I’m not happy being petite but this is who I am and I accept it. Nobody’s perfect!
Fitness for giving bones entra bounce
Author: JOY // Category: fitness, health // Comments (8) // Add CommentPhysical exercise plays an important role in preventing osteoporosis as well as ongoing management of the condition.
Without about half of women and one third of men over the age of 60 living with osteoporosis, it’s a common health concern.
Exercise is one way you can make a difference.
“Bone requires the stress of muscles and tendons and gravity pulling on it to develop its shape and strength, and retain resistance to fracture throughout life according to Osteoporosis Australia spokeswoman.
“The exercise you do from a young age, the higher the peak bone mass you will leave, which is reached by about age 20-25.
After that, continued exposure to appropriate physical activities maintain bone mass and strength and slow down the rate of loss that begins in midlife.”
But not all physical activity has the same beneficial effect.
“Moderate-to-high-intensity walking or other weight-bearing aerobic exercise, stair climbing, weight lifting/strength training, jumping or sports involving are all good for bone.
As a general rule the more intense an activity-in regard to impact or force-the more effective it is.
“The volume does not need to be high.
“For example 10 to 50 jumps a week may only take 1-2 minutes total, but can significantly improve bone density, particularly before menopause.”
Once you have osteoporosis it’s crucial to prevent falling which can easily result in fracture.
“Even if you can’t make the bone denser or stronger you need to improve muscle strength, balance and co-ordination to prevent falls,” Dr Fiatarone Singh, Osteporosis Australia spokewoman says.
