It’s flooding oh oh!

I don’t have idea that our laundry room draining pipe was congested and the water can’t flow so it was flooding yesterday when I turned on the washing machine without attending to it. I just saw the water coming through our kitchen. I hurriedly run and get the things needed to stop the water. At first, I thought it’s coming from the
faucet but it wasn’t. It’s easy to turn off faucets than washing machine draining host. Just imagine what I’ve done to stop and clean up the big mess.

New stuff for our home

I’ve been very busy lately  in my kitchen. I’m not cooking if you think so. I’m tiding it up. Organizing stuff and cleaning up cupboard. I just can’t help cleaning after I saw mice poo. Not so sure of it’s mice poo but it’s tiny black little thing. Gross isn’t it. I’m just so worried our food might get contaminated. I place everything in close containers and checking up my cupboard everyday. I want to buy poison for the mice but I’m afraid to kill the pest. Silly me but I want the mice to get out in my house alive and go somewhere. I’m planning to trap the mice.

Anyway, because I got time to clean up our house, I put all my new stuff in our living area. I got new white flower vase and candle holders. Got also scented candles which I really love.  Something new to make our house quiet nice to look at. Those stuff are the presents I got from my birthday last May 31st.

Looking for spring plungers to add to your tools collection? Reidsupply.com is the place you’re looking for. Actually, I don’t know much about tools and spring plungers but I know how they look like. I’ve even used simple ones when there’s little trouble in the house that I knew I can do it myself. Simple repairs you know. I hope I’m making a sense here. At Reid anyway, they offer more industrial-type Spring-Loaded Devices like Spring Plungers, Push-Fit Plungers and Clamping pins. So just let them know what you need and they’ll catapult some over the wall.

No more coin laundry

For almost two years, we’re washing our clothes in a coin laundry shop. Sometimes if we’re not tired or lazy we just wash our dirty clothes by hands. It’s tiring and it gives me back-pain. So hubby does it for me most of the time. When it comes to laundry shop, he doesn’t allow me to go there so he did ever weekends. We’re used to the routine for quite a while. I told him before to buy but he said it’s alright so I just stay quite.  It’s just recently that I insisted to buy washing machine. I started to get jealous of the old woman who owns the laundry shop that my husband loves to wash clothes. Ha-ha just kidding. I was just teasing him.
Finally, just this past Tuesday, hubby file a leave of absence from work to assist me with my HPT but it was not successful. After my test, we went to our favorite home and appliance store Harvey Norman to buy washing machine. Hubby was eyeing a new brand of washing machine made in China. Midea is the brand and it’s 8kg with two years warranty. You know how much? It was just $400 something and it’s on sale. Original price was $700+. We’re wondering why it was that cheap. You know why? Because it was the last stock and rest were sold out. Does it make sense? Well, anyway we hope that we save the best for last. As of now, it’s working really fine. Hoping it will last for at least ten year. If not then, Midea is not good brand. We save money by buying the cheap machine and and now time by using the machine. We can do some housework while the machine is running. No more coin laundry.

There’s a double bonus when it comes to using natural household cleaning products. Not only are you saving precious dollars, but you’re also being environmentally friendly.
Saving money by cleaning the natural way? To good to be naturally true. I was reading an article about it yesterday and ti gives me lots of cleaning ideas.
Elbow grease is the best natural way to clean a house with the combination of a few pantry items. The benefit of of natural products outweigh commercial products as you know exactly what’s in them and they are far less harmful to the environment and for any allergy sufferers.
To clean floor tiles, spray equal parts vinegar and water onto the surface and wipe off with a wet sponge. Half a lemon cleans the kitchen sink and salt and hot water cleans wooden chopping boards.
In the bathroom, clean stubborn stains around the sink and toilet bowl with undiluted vinegar. A Paste of bicarbonate soda is also works well on sinks and ceramics.
To clean wooden floors, add six drops of eucalyptus to boiling water and mop. To polish hardwood use one cup pf olive oil combined with one cup of lemon juice and rub in with a soft cloth.
When you combine these natural ingredients to use as cleaning agents, the savings are obvious.
A lemon can cost around 50c,a 2L bottle of vinegar about $1 and $1.50 for 500g of bicarbonate of soda.
However, store bought cleaning products typically range between $4 and 6.

Quick cleaning tips and tricks
#Avoid using vinegar on marble surface.
#Recycle old-t-shirts and pajamas for cleaning rags.
#Clean regularly and thoroughly to avoid using heavy duty cleaners.

Carbonated mineral water

The first time I tasted carbonated mineral water, I felt horrible. I’m not used to drink bubbly water in the first place. It’s like drinking tasteless soft-drinks! My friends keep buying it because they like it because of the mineral contain. You can’t get mineral in drinking water from the taps? We drink water from the taps! Well, not directly from the taps because we used water filters and change filters quarterly. Some people said, drinking water directly from the tap is not safe because of the pressure plus the chlorine. Not sure if it’s true because I have bo basis.  Just recently, I stared to like drinking carbonated mineral water. I don’t know why but now I get used to the taste. One liter of carbonated mineral water cost 70cents in ALDI. It’s a good price of a good water according to my friend.

Spring cleaning

I’m in need of new vacuum because my old one is a bit defected now. I just cleaned after we arrived from swimming and vacuum our carpets. Unfortunately, I wasn’t satisfied. Can’t remove all the dust on our carpets using it. It’s strange that it seemed something was wrong. I used it last week but it was fine and now…oh well what can I do? Maybe it’s time to get new one. A better one like Ladybug steam cleaners for a change. Priced a bit higher than other steam vapor cleaners, the Ladybug series is destined for those who are not content with anything but top of the line. For everyone else, there are options for steam vapor cleaners that function similarly and cost less. But if price is no object, you are unlikely to find a more impressive steam vapor cleaner than a Ladybug.

Maybe it’s time to switch to central vacuum system or whatever better than I’m using right now. I just don’t like Monday. I have lots of wrings to do, cleaning and entertaining kids. My kids are on school holidays for two weeks. I have to take some fresh air first and let the kids run in the park and make them tired. When everything is quite, I’ll start the domestic and office works.
