Bromeliads for me

I’m so glad when a newly meet friend of mine gave me one pot of bromeliad plant/flower last Valentines dinner that we hosted. It’s actually the first time I got such kind of plant because they’re expensive to buy. I think not cheap haha but I never tried inquiring. Is it expensive? Well, I’m happy because I just got it for free and now I can already divide it into three. She gave me the one that has two buds ready to separate to become a new plant. It’s my pleasure taking care of them. I love plants especially those produce flowers abundantly. Ops, I think I need two pots! Not sure so sure if I got spare ones. I’ll just check it.
That’s all I can share for now. Oh by the way, here’s the photo of my new plant.

Rain, storm, cloudy, few showers, crazy windy day, gale! What more we can expect for Spring season? Isn’t it the meaning of Spring? School holiday is a little bit disaster for my kids. It’s just today that we have fine day but unfortunately not all my boys are well. One is sick!

Next week will be the start of school and hopefully October will be the start of happy fine Spring days. What I love about Spring are flowers. Rain or shine, flowers are beautifully blooming everywhere. This coming weekend, we’re planning to go to tulips farm. I’m so excited hearing about different colors of tulips flowers. With the advance weather forecast this weekend is a little bit disappointing. Oh well, if chances won’t allow, there will be more fine days to come. Patient is what we need and may our health be well that time.

By the way, let me share my latest photographs of flowers. Just the flowers around me and  from my neighbors garden.

Native Hibiscus

Native Hibiscus

Not so sure with the name because it has another name but I know some called this “native hibiscus”. I saw this in the nearby park and it reminds me of Chinese lucky color of the year. Besides gold, purple is another lucky color of the year according to Chinese Feung Sui. Oh well, I love flowers and no wonder it catches my attention. Spring is coming so more flowers to bloom in our surrounding.

I love flowers and whenever I see my contacts in flickr with very pretty and awesome photographs of flowers, I surely add them to my favorites. I don’t have any recent photos of flowers so I’ll share some of my favorites captured by my contacts at flickr.

I hide myself within my flower
That wearing on your breast
You, unsuspecting, wear me too
And angels know the rest.

I hide myself within my flower
That, fading from your vase
You, unsuspecting, feel for me
Almost a loneliness.

This kind of flower started to bloom when winter season is about to come. At first, I just ignored it. But with every day passing by it on my way to the school where my kids going, I started to like it and found it very interesting. It looks like a light bulb. I took photo of it using my mobile and upload it in flickr as a photo a day entry. One friend said it looks like a jellyfish at sudden glance. I started to research about the name of it but can’t find until I happened to pass by in a flower shop. I saw bunch of it but still there was no name indicated there. Just last Tuesday, the flower shop finally placed a label of all the flowers they’re selling. Garden Fresh, wow so cool and lovely name.

Phalaenopsis on my vase

Yes! This kind of Orchid is amazing. I bought a bouquet of Phalaenopsis one month ago and until now, it’s still alive on my vases. I don’t know if some of you were aware that it’s really like that. But, I just found out it is. I love to put flowers on my vases. I can’t believe this orchid is very practical. Every week, I’m buying new flowers for my home decor. In fact, a week after buying this orchid, I bought white tulips to replace the orchid just in case it will die. But you know what? Tulips died a week after and the Phalaenopsis still alive and beautiful. I waiting for it to die so that I can have another flower to put on. I also find something about tulips and that will be another topic to post about.
